Folded forms accentuate technique. These objects are made by using centrifugal force with the right speed, acceleration and stamina to bend, stretch and condense the glass in a time sensitive manner. The appropriate amount of pressure, speed, heat and finesse must be considered at the appropriate time to manipulate the glass in this way.
The idea of “folding” glass or creating rings in glass under traditional circumstances is vastly unexplored. Folds in glass are made only with years of acquired skill, from diligent practice, persistence and patience.
These items can be displayed as individual pieces or as parts in larger installations. All variations have the ability to be wall mounted or suspended with additional hardware. New folded forms are being explored and will continue to be released in the Extra Ordinary Store.
Do to the nature of hand made glass, no two pieces are exactly the same. Any item can be reproduced, however this processes features intuition and unabridged creative focus allowing the artist to explore possibilities in rapid succession.
